Who we are - Why we do this

I started Lightbulb in 2010 with the mission to reduce the painful bits we often have to live with when working for organisations and with other people! I was that person who forced people through the traditional, bureaucratic nonsense that is annual appraisal. I can also claim to be a victim, many times over, of management training that could best be described as unmemorable, jargon-laden and full of 'ideal world' theories, clever words and advice that was difficult to apply to real-life.

-We're about sorting the people management bits easily and quickly as well as getting other work-stuff done in better ways and in half the time.

-It’s about being plain-speaking and cutting out the annoying, subjective corporate buzzwords and office-speak to ultimately make things simpler.

-Lightbulb approaches things in a non-textbook, practical, step-by-step way so that people can get going with a new approach at 9am the next day. We exist to challenge convention, tradition and what the theories and textbooks say. Because if the 'best practices' out there are so effective then why is some of the work stuff still so painful?
